Over-the-Air Firmware Updates for a Solar Race Car

CI/CD to embedded targets · Undergraduate Honors Thesis

For my honors thesis, I built a CI/CD pipeline that compiles microcontroller firmware in the cloud and beams it to microcontrollers buried deep inside a solar race car.

mbed-os Upstream Contribution: STM32G4 Clock Sources

Open source

Our custom boards used a crystal oscillator that mbed-os did not support, so I fixed it upstream. My code now ships in an RTOS used by strangers, which is a fun thought.

CAN-Based In-Vehicle Network, Sunswift 7

Distributed vehicle network · zero downtime

The nervous system of Sunswift 7: a custom CAN network tying 8+ sensor and actuator nodes together. It carried 1,900+ messages with zero downtime across the 3,200 km World Solar Challenge which we won.

Restaurant Ordering System

Spring Boot REST API · team of 5, 2023

A full restaurant wait-management system from my university capstone. Customers order, the kitchen cooks, wait staff get pinged. I built the backend: a Spring Boot REST API in Java sitting on an SQLite schema.

A motorized two-axis mount for a 114 mm Newtonian reflector. Essentially a 2DOF robot arm, made for aiming at the stars.
